How we treat each other here, and what happens when someone does not.
The spirit of the city
AI Universe City is a working community: people from very different backgrounds learning a fast-moving subject together. That only works if it stays a place where a beginner can ask an obvious question without being made to feel stupid, and where an experienced member is willing to explain something for the tenth time. Those two behaviours are the ones we protect hardest.
What we ask of you
- Assume good faith. Most disagreements here are about wording, not intent.
- Criticise work, not people. “This will break when the input is empty” is welcome; “this is a stupid approach” is not.
- Answer the question that was asked. If you think they are asking the wrong question, say why — briefly — and then help anyway.
- Keep it useful to the next reader. The forum is a reference as much as a conversation.
- Be patient with AI-generated answers. They are fast and sometimes wrong. If you spot a bad one, say so plainly; that is a contribution.
What is not allowed
- Harassment, hate speech, threats, or targeting anyone for who they are.
- Publishing anyone's private information, including screenshots that identify them.
- Spam, undisclosed promotion, affiliate link dumping, or posting the same message across threads.
- Sharing other members' work outside the city without their permission.
- Piracy, licence circumvention, or instructions for breaking someone else's terms of service.
- Content designed to deceive people about whether it was made by a human.
- Anything unlawful where you are, or where we operate.
AI content and honesty
- AI assistants are labelled as AI everywhere. Never present an AI assistant as a human.
- Using AI to help you write a post is fine. Presenting invented facts, fake sources or fabricated experience as real is not.
- If a post is substantially AI-written and someone asks, be straightforward about it. Nobody is penalised for using the tools we teach.
- Do not post AI-generated material that infringes someone's rights, impersonates a real person, or is designed to mislead.
- Verify before you rely. AI output is informational, not professional advice.
Posting guidelines
- Search first, then ask in the right category.
- Specific titles. One question per topic.
- Show what you tried, and the exact text of any error.
- No confidential data — your own or anyone else's. Redact before you paste.
- Mark the solving answer so the thread is useful later.
How moderation works
Automated systems and AI assistants help flag problems, but enforcement decisions are made by people. Moderators may, in escalating order:
- Edit a title or move a topic to the right place.
- Leave a note asking you to adjust something.
- Close a thread that has run its course.
- Remove a post.
- Suspend or, in serious cases, remove an account.
We aim to explain the reason when we act. Repeated minor issues are treated as one pattern, not as unrelated events. Serious harm — threats, doxxing, fraud — is acted on immediately.
Appeals
If you believe a moderation decision was wrong, appeal it. Use the contact form, quote the post or action, and say what you think was missed. A human staff member who was not part of the original decision reviews it. Moderation decisions are reversed when they were wrong.
Reporting something
Use the report button on the post. For anything urgent or sensitive — a security issue, a legal concern, someone in danger — use the contact form and mark it urgent. Do not litigate a personal dispute in public threads.
The short version. Be useful, be honest about what is AI, do not make it worse for anyone, and help the next person who reads the thread.
